I'm joining the AI Revolution (and maybe you should, too!)

AI coding tools have gotten way better over the last few years.

Remember back in 2022? They could barely do more than suggest the next few words as you typed.

But now? We have proper AI agents using powerful models like Claude Opus 4.

In my latest video about building apps with Claude Code, I showed that with careful planning, AI tools can do most of the coding and help you build robust apps, much faster than before.

In 2025, we've hit a turning point. The more I use AI, the more I'm convinced we're witnessing a big shift in how we build software:

  • Old Way: Plan → Write Code → Test (all by hand)
  • New Way: Plan (You + AI) → Code (Mostly AI) → Test (You + AI)
  • Future: Even more AI-powered coding. The direction is clear!

Back in 2023, Andrej Karpathy said that the hottest new programming language is English, and I think he's right! AI can turn English into code, much like compilers can produce low-level machine code that runs on your CPU.

Of course, AI still messes up sometimes. Since you can never fully trust it, you still need to check and approve the code it writes. And to do that, you need to understand it.

But one thing is clear: whether you write it or an AI agent does, code is just a tool. What matters is the end result: building useful, robust software.

So, What Does This Mean for Us?

Personally, I have a very long list of app/SaaS ideas that I never managed to tackle due to lack of time, knowledge, or both.

Now, that list doesn't seem so scary. My latest app was built way faster thanks to AI, and I'm super excited to start on more.

If people like me and you can build, release, and (most importantly) monetize apps, we might just be able to join the FIRE movement!

And since the tech industry has decided to follow the AI hype and pursue layoffs as a (short-sighted) profit maximization strategy, maybe going indie and charting your own path is a smarter move than trying to land a job in this tough market.

So, where does this leave us, and what am I planning?

Moving Forward with Flutter & AI

I still think Flutter is awesome. With the right ideas, faster execution (thanks to AI), and a business mindset, you might just find new and better ways to make a living.

But what about my educational content?

For starters, updates to Google Search and AI summaries are absolutely killing search traffic volume for content sites, and no wonder, StackOverflow is pretty much dead.

This comes with decreasing interest in technical articles and tutorials, and my website traffic proves it:

Lifetime website traffic on Code With Andrea: Google traffic down 71% since peak in March 2023
Lifetime website traffic on Code With Andrea: Google traffic down 71% since peak in March 2023

After all, if AI can help you just-in-time, right in your IDE, why would you need to visit an external website for answers?

But as great as AI is, it has its limits:

  • Limited context window: AI tools can forget important details easily.
  • Encyclopedic but lossy knowledge of the internet: Hallucinations and jagged intelligence.
  • Probabilistic by nature: Same inputs lead to different outputs.

With that said, learning how to build and ship real apps using AI is going to be super valuable! I want to reboot my YouTube channel with new videos, and if there's enough demand, I might even create my own Flutter + AI course. (would you be interested?)

But before I tell you my future plans, I need to share some personal news that will impact my work as an educator.

I'm Moving to Italy! 🇮🇹

After living in the UK for 17 long years, I decided to return to my home country and bring my family with me. It's a new and super exciting chapter, and we're moving next week!

Of course, I'll need some time to get settled, sort out all the moving stuff, and, why not – enjoy some summer holidays! 🏖️

This means you won't hear much from me over the next month or so.

But don't worry, I'll be back!

My Plan

I'm feeling very energized by the AI revolution!

I have tons of ideas I want to bring to life, and I want to share all my "Flutter + AI" learnings with you.

So, stick around! Starting in September, I'll share some new videos on my YouTube channel, along with more concrete plans!

Thanks for reading, and happy coding!
